I am new to playing the whistle, & am enjoying learning to play it. I do quite well in the lower octive but really struggle with the higher notes. High D not bad, high E sometimes, & every thing else just squeeks. Any suggestions?

Have a look at the Jumping

Have a look at the Jumping Octaves lesson. It's a good exercise to practice if you're having difficulty with the second octave, which is a common problem. As each whistle is different, you'll need to learn just how much air pressure is required to make the jump and stay on the note so make sure you run the exercise slowly.

Is changing octaves simply

Is changing octaves simply blowing a bit harder??? If it is, how can you tell if you have it right?? Struggling a bit with it.
