Hi to all,
I'm an absolute beginner to the tin whistle and I'm just practising my first songs. I'm living in China and I've had a "Generation" tin whistle in the key of D and a wooden "Hohner" recorder posted over to me, (I can't buy them here).
I've noticed that the fs note is not the same pitch on both instruments, it's a little flatter on the recorder.
Are there differences between the recorder and tin whistle or is this a quality control issue?
Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.
Patrick

Try and locate a electronic
Try and locate a electronic tuner and find out which one is off. It's rather common to have a whistle that is out of tune. I posted in another catagory how to make a non-tunable whistle so you can tune it. You'll have to find it, sorry.
